The MeatUp Grill serves its signature flattop griddle burgers along with its casual menu featuring the Ultimate Truffle Grilled Cheese drizzled with black truffle honey and the Quinoa Buddha Bowl with roasted squash and lemon-tahini dressing. You won't want to miss the The “MeatUp Tower”, a three-tiered sampler of their burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, cheese fries and onion rings. Perfect for a family of 4! The MeatUp Brunch is available from 11:30am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays featuring a variety of egg dishes and favorites like Egg & Avocado Tostada and Bucatini a la Carbonara. Local delivery and catering services is available.
About the Chef
Chef Michael Fiore
A resident of Rockaway Beach for over 25 years, Michael Fiore grew up in an Italian-American family where food often took centerstage at family gatherings. This inspired him to begin working in restaurants at an early age and pursue a career in the culinary arts.
After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America, his journey continued by training in some of NYC’s top restaurants with chefs such as David Burke, Michael Ayoub & Lidia Bastianich. Michael also trained at the renowned La Gavroche in London, England.
In 2004, he became the chef & partner of both Tempo Restaurant & Tempo Presto located in Park Slope, Brooklyn where he brought a modern approach to Mediterranean cuisine. Tempo was voted top new restaurant of New York City by Zagat & received stellar reviews on social media articles and national publications including the NY Times. Michael also appeared on The Today Show cooking up some of his signature dishes, including his famed Bucatini with Sicilian Pistachio Pesto that won the “Critics Pick” award in 2005 by Timeout New York magazine.
In 2010, Michael found a new outlet to showcase his culinary expertise by focusing his attention on event catering and landing a chefs position in one of NYC’s well-established catering companies. He now had the opportunity to showcase other types of cuisine in his repertoire from different cultures around the world. Since then, Michael has catered for many Hollywood celebrities, fashion designers, and political figures. Some of his highlighted events include the Chelsea Clinton wedding, an annual celebrity dinner fundraiser for the Good Foundation hosted by Jerry & Jessica Seinfeld, and the Bloomberg LP summer picnic for over 14,000 guests.
Michael currently owns and operates a state of the art commissary kitchen in Long Island City, NY providing full service off-premise catering in the NY metro area, as well as being the Executive Chef for Mary Giuliani Catering and Events. Here in the Rockaways he is the creator of The MeatUp Grill. A fast casual concept that began at Riis Park Beach in 2017 as a popup tent on summer weekends and has now grown into an all year round full-service operation. In the summer you can find The MeatUp Grill at the newly opened Bay 5 Bathhouse and from October through May 2019 The MeatUp Grill will be serving an expanded a la carte menu in the Bay 9 Pavillion.
